Privacy policy

Effective date: 21 October 2026

This policy explains what Zen-NEET keeps about you, why we keep it, which services help us run Zen-NEET, and what you can ask us to do. Zen-NEET is run by Kaiku Labs (“we”, “us”). If you have a question, write to privacy@zen-neet.com.

The short version

  • We keep what we need to run your study plan: your account, your study setup and your study record.
  • We do not show ads. We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising.
  • Your study record is private. Nothing you write becomes public.
  • You can delete your account yourself in Zen-NEET at any time, and you can ask us for a copy of your data.

1. What we collect

Your account

Your email address and password. Your password is handled by our sign-in service and stored in a scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read it.

If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your email address with our sign-in service, and usually also your name and profile picture. Zen-NEET itself uses only your email address. We do not use your Google name or picture, and we do not get access to your Gmail, contacts or Google Drive.

Your study setup

The details you give when you start: the name you type, your NEET exam date, which attempt this is, how prepared you feel, how many hours you can study each day, whether you study in school or coaching or full time, your rest days, your time zone, and how confident you feel in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Your study record

What you do in Zen-NEET: lessons you open, questions you answer, the answer you chose, whether it was right, how long you took, your mock test attempts and marks, your review schedule, bookmarks, daily plans, study sessions and progress.

Things you write

Notes on your mistakes (why you missed a question and how you will fix it), reports you send about a question, weekly review notes, and short check-ins. Check-ins can include how you feel, your energy, how much you slept and exercised, and a note. We use these only to shape your own plan.

Zenith, the study helper

Your questions to Zenith and its answers are saved in your account so you can read them again. To keep daily limits fair, we also record how much you use Zenith, together with a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet (IP) address and of a random ID stored in your browser.

Usage and device information

We record a small number of events inside Zen-NEET, for example when you finish a study block. Each event includes the page, the page you came from, a random ID stored in your browser, and your browser’s “user agent” (a short text that names your browser and type of device). When you are signed in, we also measure how fast pages load for you. We use this to find problems and make Zen-NEET better. We do not use outside analytics or advertising trackers.

Study Circle

Study Circle is an optional small group, and it may not be available to everyone. Nothing is shared until you agree. If you join, other members see your display name (if you do not choose one, it is the part of your email address before the @ sign), and only the things you choose to share, such as the days you finished your plan or study cards you mark for the circle. Members never see your marks, private notes or Zenith chats.

2. Cookies and storage in your browser

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. Zen-NEET also stores a few things in your browser: the random IDs described above, your Zenith settings, answers you have not saved yet (removed after 12 hours), and a short-lived copy of your study data so pages open faster.

3. Why we use your data

  • To create and protect your account and let you sign in.
  • To build your daily plan, schedule your reviews and mark your tests.
  • To answer your questions in Zenith.
  • To keep Zen-NEET safe, for example by limiting how many requests one account or address can send.
  • To find bugs and slow pages and improve Zen-NEET.

We process your data because you asked us to provide Zen-NEET to you and agreed to this policy when you created your account.

4. Services that help us run Zen-NEET

We use a few outside companies. They process your data only to provide their service to us.

  • Supabase: sign-in (accounts, passwords and Google sign-in), the emails with your sign-up code and password reset links, and the database where your study record is kept.
  • Vercel: hosts the website and runs Zen-NEET’s server code. Our server code is set to run in Mumbai, India.
  • DeepSeek: the AI model behind Zenith. When you ask Zenith something, we send your question, the last few messages of that chat, the subject and chapter, and a short summary of your recent results and up to three of your mistake notes, so the answer fits you. We do not send your name, email address or account ID. DeepSeek is an AI provider. Its own privacy policy says this data may be processed and stored outside India, in China.
  • Upstash: short-lived counters that limit how many requests one account, or one internet address when you are signed out, can send. These counters delete themselves after a short time.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also share information if the law requires it, for example because of a valid order from a court or government authority.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and study record while your account is open, so your plan and review history keep working. Request counters are deleted within minutes. Unsaved answers in your browser are removed after 12 hours. When you delete your account, we delete your account and study record straight away, including your Zenith chats. Usage events, and any records of consent or payment we need to keep, may be kept after that, but no longer linked to your account. Questions already sent to DeepSeek are handled under DeepSeek’s own policy.

6. Your rights and choices

You can delete your account, and you can ask us to give you a copy of your data or correct it. You can also withdraw your agreement to sharing at any time.

  • Delete your account: go to Account and find “Delete my account” at the bottom of the page. Type DELETE and press the button. Your account and study record are deleted at once. This cannot be undone.
  • Other requests in the app: go to Account, then Privacy and data. “Request export” asks for a copy of your data. “Withdraw sharing consent” stops Study Circle sharing at once.
  • By email: write to privacy@zen-neet.com from the email address on your account, to get a copy of your data or to correct any details.

A person on our team handles each request for a copy or a correction. We aim to finish within 30 days and will tell you when it is done. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

7. Students under 18

Many NEET students are under 18. India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 says a parent or guardian must agree before a child’s personal data is processed. If you are under 18, please use Zen-NEET only with the permission of a parent or guardian, and ask them to read this policy before you create an account.

A parent or guardian can write to privacy@zen-neet.com at any time to ask what we keep about their child, or to correct or delete it. We do not track children’s behaviour for advertising and we do not show ads.

8. How we protect your data

All connections to Zen-NEET use HTTPS, so data is encrypted on the way. Only a small number of people who run Zen-NEET can reach the database. Internet addresses and device IDs in our usage records are scrambled (hashed). No system is completely safe, so if a problem ever affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you in Zen-NEET before it applies.

10. Contact

Kaiku Labs runs Zen-NEET. For anything about your data, write to privacy@zen-neet.com.
